I was at Seneca Manor on a regular basis even though I live out of state. Many of my mom’s friends and relatives visited her all the time. They, too, were dismayed by what they saw at Seneca Manor.
I was assured by the upper management people that my mom would receive excellent care and that it was the best place for her to be when she passed away. On the contrary, the staff failed my mom miserably, as she sat and screamed in pain from impending sepsis. The outsourced nurses got to her when they could and made her wait for morphing while they attended to scores of other patients. I made the decision to transfer my mom to Oswego Hospiral by ambulance and it was the best decision I could have made. She received outstanding care there by a caring and attentive staff of nurses and doctors as she passed away.
I would not have been comfortable leaving my grandmother in the hands of anyone else.
